Getting Involved: Your First Steps
“Growing up, I assumed there were only two real paths in the arts—teaching or performing. Being able to work ‘behind the scenes’ in a position that facilitates education and advocates for arts integration is really special.”
—Shenandoah Sokel, Wolf Trap Education National and Affiliate Services Program Coordinator
You may be asking yourself: what is arts administration or arts management? Perhaps the simplest definition is the business of the arts. Before your favorite artist takes the stage, a ballet company captivates an audience, or a teaching artist engages students in a classroom, there’s a dedicated team working to make it all happen.
Wolf Trap Foundation’s robust internships and apprenticeships help young professionals develop the skills they need to turn their passion for the arts into a rewarding career.
