Behind the Counter: Concessions 2024
Jul 05, 2024
Summer performances at Wolf Trap are truly feasts for the senses with the soaring chords of world-class musicians, stunning colors of vivid sunsets, and warm summer breezes. Wolf Trap’s Food & Beverage team has leveled up the treats for your night out with a new Concessions menu at the Filene Center.
A Symphony of Culinary Delights
This summer, Wolf Trap’s culinary offerings are set to excite and satisfy any hungry concertgoer. With the recent construction of the Meadow Commons, which included the addition of a full commercial kitchen, fans can now enjoy a more robust and tantalizing menu that caters to all dietary preferences.
Feel like trying something new? Order up a Mediterranean Bowl with your choice of gyro meat or vegan falafel and topped with a delicious mix of hummus, corn and cucumber relish, tzatziki sauce, and pickled red onions. Or try out the hearty Fish & Chips with scrumptious beer-battered rockfish and tartar sauce. Over at the Concessions stand on the Plaza (just past the women’s restrooms), you can grab a Margherita Flat Bread with melty mozzarella and provolone cheeses or a Pepperoni version finished off with hot honey.
Craving something a little more refreshing? The Mango Lime Quinoa Salad (vegan, gluten-free) is sure to please with a tasty mix of adzuki beans, diced mango, pumpkin seeds, arugula, and a cilantro-lime vinaigrette. The Turkey & Bacon Ciabatta Sandwich features a delicious combination of creamy brie cheese, fresh arugula, and tangy Dijon mustard. Or the vegetarian Beyond Burger and Mezze Platter are perfect choices for a quick picnic out on the lawn.
Tried and true favorites are still on the list, but with a bit of an upgrade. The satisfyingly delicious Wolf Burger now features a premier beef blend of brisket, short rib, and chuck, along with Boom Boom sauce and traditional fixings. The fan-favorite Chicken Tenders boasts (NEW) extra crispy fries along with an option to add DC’s own Capital City Mambo sauce. Other beloved returning items include the classic Pulled Pork Sandwich, Jumbo All Beef Hot Dog in a Bavarian Pretzel Bun, and a Jumbo Lump Maryland Crab Cake Sandwich that thrills seafood lovers with its abundance of premium blue crab, arugula, and flavorful remoulade atop a brioche bun.
Just a Snack
For those seeking a quick bite, Concessions serves up freshly popped popcorn, soft-serve ice cream, Reston-based Nordic Knot’s Premium Soft Pretzels (vegan), and locally sourced Virginia spicy peanuts and cashews from Chantilly’s own Family of Nuts. New this summer is the ultimate comfort food: Cheddar Bacon Stuffed Tater Tots.
If you’re a member, don’t forget to enjoy your Concessions discount on featured snacks on Member Perk Nights!
Thirsty for More
Wolf Trap continues to offer a variety of thirst-quenching soft drinks and summer libations, with local beers on tap, as well as ready-to-drink craft beverages in cans. New beers this year include Starr Hill’s Groove Tangerine Ale and Stone Buenaveza’s Salt & Lime Lager. Or grab a Wolf Trap Summer Ale or Premium Light Lager, made in collaboration with Caboose Brewing Co.
The Meadow Commons’ new Drink Stop offers quick and easy refills, conveniently located just steps away from the lower-left orchestra level. Choose from a variety of sodas, craft beers, wines, and refreshing cocktails and mocktails like the new Espresso Martini and Zero-Proof Margarita.
Regardless of your drink selection, be sure to have your Wolf Trap cup ready! Drinks are only permitted in the Filene Center in Wolf Trap’s spill-safe cup. Get yours at any Concessions stand or at the Gift Shop or bring your cup from prior Wolf Trap seasons.
Good Neighbors
Much of the Filene Center’s Concessions menu is locally sourced from the surrounding DMV area. Wolf Trap’s Food & Beverage team proudly works with several family-run distributors and smaller, local companies to provide a wide range of quality items including the Bavarian Pretzel Buns, Chocolate Chunk Cookies, Soft Serve Ice Cream, Fresh Roasted Virginia Spicy Nuts, and much more.
Yours and Ours
Of course, picnicking remains a time-honored Wolf Trap tradition. If your picnic needs a boost, visit one of the three windows open along the Meadow side of the Commons building. For the first time, a mix of grab-and-go items are on sale before the Filene Center gates open—everything from cheese, charcuterie, and light fare to wine, beer, sweets, and ice cream.
Enjoy your pre-performance picnic with outstanding views on the Meadow Overlook’s decks, the Meadow Commons’ pergola-covered patio, or in the beautiful Ovations Pavilion.
Bon appétit, and cheers to summer!
