PNC Rockin’ Doubleheader Recap

PNC Rockin’ Doubleheader Recap
Aug 17, 2016

Wolf Trap teamed up with Summer Season Premier Sponsor PNC and the Washington Nationals for the PNC Rockin’ Doubleheader, a contest giving one winner a full day of VIP experiences at Nationals Park and Wolf Trap! Our lucky winner Robyn recapped her day for us.  Read all about it here:

The PNC Rockin’ Doubleheader was an amazing day. When I entered the contest, I was just excited to see a Nationals game from the PNC Diamond Club and go to a concert of a band that I liked. As I found out more about the event in the days leading up to it, I saw that it was going to be filled with special experiences and gifts beyond anything I anticipated, and my excitement grew. Somehow, on the day of, my expectations were still far exceeded.

My friend and I started the day being picked up in a luxurious Town Car from Reston Limousine that would be bringing us to each of our destinations throughout the day. We arrived at Nationals Park to an excited greeting from Chad and Henry of Wolf Trap. We soon met with Nationals’ rep Kevin and PNC’s Sonia to get our credentials and head to the Diamond Club for brunch. As a huge Nats fan, I was most excited for our next activity – field access and delivering the line-up card! We got to experience all of the pre-game festivities up close and then I got to meet Nats bench coach Chris Speier, all of the umpires for the game, and the famous Dusty Baker—Manager of the Nationals. We spent the rest of the game comfortably snacking and cheering the Nationals to victory before heading to our next stop—Wolf Trap!

When we arrived at Wolf Trap, we were once again greeted by an excited Chad and Henry who whisked us off to our next activities. Dinner at Ovations was delicious and such a beautiful setting! The breeze and open air feel was just what we needed to relax and regroup before the rest of our exciting night. We finished dinner and headed to meet The Band Perry and get pictures and autographs.

We finally reached our last destination – the front row for the concert. I have a) never been so close to the stage and b) never had that much fun at a concert before. We were up on our feet dancing the whole time! It was particularly fun because I could tell that the band recognized us from the meet and greet and would smile or wave as they were performing. Even if we hadn’t been front and center, the concert would have been amazing; The Band Perry has such great energy.

We headed home very tired and a little hoarse, but smiling broadly. We rehashed everything the whole way home and shared our amazing day with all our friends at work the next day. I cannot say thank you enough to everyone involved in planning the day, especially the teams at PNC, Wolf Trap, and the Nationals who put in all the hard work to make this happen. Having them with us throughout the day made it so enjoyable and easy. Thank you!
